Sited in Torquay on the Surf Coast, Cottage is a new home that earns its name — not through scale, but through the warmth, character and sense of belonging it brings to its coastal setting. The design distils the essentials of good coastal living into a home that is modest in footprint but generous in feeling.

The Surf Coast context informed every aspect of the design — from the robust, low-maintenance material palette suited to a beachside environment, to the careful management of northern light and prevailing breezes. The home is designed to perform as well as it looks, with passive solar principles and natural ventilation woven into the fabric of the design from the earliest concept stage.
